Information & Timetables
Shuttlebus
A free shuttle service will run from outside Alresford Surgery and from the Bus Stop at Robertson Road, to the Showground from approximately 9.30am. Last bus leaves the showground at approximately 5.00pm
Dogs
Dogs are welcome on the showground but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please clear up after your dog. Dogs are not allowed in the livestock tents due to animal welfare concerns.
Baby Changing
Baby changing facilities are available in the tent situated in the Farmyard Play Area.
First Aid
Collingwood Services Ltd. are on site covering all first aid requirements. They also have an ambulance providing paramedic cover. They are located near aisle C.
Grandstands
There are two viewing grandstands located around the Main Ring. You DO NOT need a ticket. Please help yourself to a seat and enjoy the attractions.
Information & Lost Property
Information and Lost property information is available at the Secretary’s tent located towards the centre of aisle C facing the main ring.
Lost Children
Any lost children should be taken to the Secretary’s Tent where they will be supervised until they can be reunited with their parents/guardians.
Meeting Point
Please note it is not possible to give any public announcements over the public address system for lost adults! We recommend that you pre- arrange a meeting point near THE CHERITON GATE
Members Club
The Members tent is located at the side of the Main Ring. Members, guests sponsors and officials (shield and round badge holders) are welcome to enjoy the seating area, use the bar and purchase the buffet lunch laid on by a local company, Martha Hollis from Alresford. There are toilets at the rear of the tent for members own use.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any tents or marquees on the showground.
Activities especially for children
Farming Fun Playground
All the fun of the farm for the youngsters to enjoy whist Mum and Dad supervise play from outside the playpen. Bales of straw to clamber on, pedal tractors to use, slides and a sandpit add up to a great way to let off steam for a few minutes.

Alresford Ukulele Jam & Friends
The Alresford Ukulele Jam is Alresford’s own grown all male Ukulele group with girls in it…and occasionally instruments which are not Ukulele’s…Like any good jam it is a true mix up of musical genre’s ranging from traditional to modern, our songs take in everything from folk, modern pop, blues, country, dance, punk and jazz to rock – all are given the ukulele treatment with unique mash-ups, sing-a-longs and the ukulele “uke” box also forming part of the fun, lively set. If you like to see a small instrument truly thrashed this is the place for you!
Beagles, Hounds & Bloodhounds
This year all will parade in the Main Ring.
The Hampshire Hunt Hounds at 11.40 am. The Southdowns Bloodhounds at 1.00 pm. The Palmer Marlborough Clinkard Meon Valley Beagles at 13.20 pm.
Brass Band
Bees and Beekeeping
Come along to the bee tent and, courtesy of Meon Valley Beekeepers, learn how bees make honey, and the vital role they play in nature, assisting the reproduction of our plants and shrubs. Featuring a real bee hive, you can see close up bees turn the pollen they have collected into honey. And, of course, there will be many honey products for you to buy.
Fun Dog Show
There is always something for everyone in the Fun Dog Show, whether you are drawn to the happiest waggy tail or bowled over by the dog the judges would most like to take home. And who will win the dog that looks most like its handler? Everyone can enter, with classes for all family pets. Entries are from 10.00am with judging from 12.30pm.
Ferrets & Ferret Racing
Ferret racing is great entertainment and between races you can get up close and personal with the animals – you can even stroke and handle them, to prove that they really don’t bite! Thanks to the Hants and Berks Ferret Club for making this possible.
Horse Show Rings 1 – 3
The standard of competition is excellent in a wide variety of classes from junior jumping to retrained racehorses, with mountain & moorland and para classes to name but a few.
Horticulture Show
The Alresford and District Horticultural Society’s annual Show is always a major attraction with breath-taking displays of cut flowers and floral decorations, and magnificent vegetable and fruit exhibits from local amateur gardeners, all vying to be best in class. But the horticulture tent is about more than just flowers, plants and vegetables – there are also cookery, craft, needlework and photography competitions and exhibitions too – truly something for everyone and not to be missed.
Poultry Exhibition and Egg Show
The chicken and egg. Ever wondered which came first? Visit the poultry tent and all might be revealed! The Hants and Berks Poultry Fanciers will again be showing a wide range of poultry and ducks – some well-known and others less so. To complement the birds, there will be display a bewildering variety of eggs – in all colours, patterns, shapes and sizes.
Livestock Show
No Agricultural Show would be complete without its Livestock Show. Come and see some of the best cattle , sheep, pigs and goats in the region, all groomed to be at their absolute best to impress the judges. Here you will find some of the less well-known breeds and have the chance to enjoy the characters in the goat and pig exhibitions, as well as being able to touch the sheep to feel the differences in their coats. The culmination of the Livestock Show is the Grand Parade of champions in the Main Ring at 15.20 pm. Please note – the livestock area will be closed to the public at 15.00 pm to allow preparations for the Grand Parade.
Rural Crafts
Over 50 local exhibitors will be displaying their hand-made items, ranging from ceramics and jewellery to watercolour painting, and wood carving, and competing for the Best Exhibit trophy. There is sure to be something for everyone in the craft tent and all exhibitors will be offering items for sale – perhaps a keepsake to remind you of your visit to the Show?
Vintage Machinery
with this impressive display of vintage farm machinery. Enjoy wandering past yesteryear’s tractors, steam engines and other exhibits to see how the ancestors of today’s farmers tended the land and their livestock. And don’t miss the grand procession in the Main Ring.
There are food, four public bars and ice cream outlets at various points around the showground. In addition a range of local produce is on sale in the Produce area and the WI offer tea, coffee and cakes.
